KU800/18 BUCKET WHEEL EXCAVATOR TIP RECONSTRUCTION - NOEN, a.s.

General description

In 2013, the complete technical documentation was developed for Severočeské doly Doly Bílina for reconstruction of the tip of the KU800/18 bucket wheel excavator used in Bílina Mines (Doly Bílina). The documentation consisted of a designing part, manufacturing documentation, electrical part, and complete accompanying documentation. One of the main objectives was to apply all the latest knowledge of operation of KU800 and KK1300 machines under conditions in the Bílina Mines.
NOEN, a.s. was the supplier of a bucket wheel drive gearbox.
As far as the mechanical part is concerned, reconstruction included the modernization project for these main parts:

• The bucket wheel with buckets and a shield behind the bucket wheel
• The bucket wheel axis with mounting
• The complete bucket wheel drive with the gearbox and a cover
• Wear ring
• The charging hopper at the bucket wheel with a front split frame to make removal of the tip easier
• Walkways to a front part of the bucket wheel boom
• Single-rotor grater
• Protection against collisions with the surroundings
• Central grease lubrication

The following was supplied for the electrical part:

• Frequency converters for the bucket wheel motors
• Electrical equipment for the bucket wheel drives (cabling, sensors, flowmeters, overload protection)
• Adaptation of the SW control system
