In 2010, reconstruction of the complete bucket wheel boom and the complete excavating set called the excavating tip of the excavator was realized according to the NOEN documentation. A front part of the telescopic bucket wheel boom is several times more rigid and also more resistant to fatigue damage than the original bucket wheel boom. The bucket wheel drive is realized by means of a bucket wheel hollow shaft with sufficient torsion rigidity and a closed gearbox with power split, protected against impact overloads with a friction safety clutch at the first countershaft of the gearbox while the original bucket wheel drive was an opened gear ring. Both of these changed properties making it possible to use the excavator under harder conditions than earlier. As a matter of course, reconstruction was accompanied with static as well as dynamic calculations and finished with balance measurement and a machine stability certificate.
